Albert is survived by his son Jim Newland and his wife Misty Newland of Blue Springs, MO and his daughter Christine Yoldas and her husband, Cenk Yoldas, of Bursa, Turkey; his sisters Judy (Cliff) Hix, Dolores Nangle, Jeanne Steele, his brothers Eldred (Tricia) Newland, Joe (Dana) Newland, and John (Lisa) Newland; his grandchildren Ahmet and Fatih Yoldas and Sebastian and Rykerr Newland; he is survived by his many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his cat Dudley.
Albert grew up in Neodesha, Kansas. He graduated from Neodesha High School in Neodesha, Kansas in 1955. After high school he lived short stints in Washington D.C. and Kansas City before venturing out to San Fransisco, California where he lived for 20 plus years. He worked for P.I.E. trucking company, married Marsha Biery, and began raising his two children. He later relocated with his children to Neodesha, Kansas where he spent 20 plus years working for Cobalt Boats from which he retired. He loved sports, history, the arts, and meeting people on his travels. He was rewarded for cheering through many harsh and unproductive years for his favorite sport teams to see them all rise to glory. The 5 Super Bowls of the 49ers, The 3 World Series of the San Fransisco Giants, and most proudly the great rise of his beloved K-State Wildcats. Later he took on his hobby in newspaper editorials, sharing his knowledge and humor for all or at least some to enjoy. Yet his most important achievement was he was the best Dad and loved dearly by his children.
A funeral service will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church November 28th at 11:00am with the rosary beforehand. Burial will follow and be attended by family and friends. Visitation will be at the Loran Fawcett Chapel from 6pm-8pm on Monday, November 27th.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial cash donations which will be given to Catholic Communities Hospice for the wonderful work they do and the wonderful care and treatment of our father up to his passing. I remember Albert fondly. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family and all who were privileged to know him. He was a distant cousin and graduated from NHS with my brother, Larry. His father delivered milk to to the Cooper family on N. 8th Street for years. After reading his obituary, I see that he lived a long and most interesting life and was loved. He will be missed.

My utmost sympathy and prayers for your family. Albert was the highlight of a lot of my days with his dry sense of humor, his wonderful editorials with that last catchy comment at the end of each and every one, our talks of movies, baseball. . .the man was a walking, talking encyclopedia! He is and always will be greatly missed.
