ALBERT FREDRICK AMBROSE Albert Fredrick Ambrose, 89, of Fredonia, Kansas formerly of Yuma, Arizona passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Fredonia Regional Hospital, Fredonia, Kansas. Albert was born November 17, 1917 in Yates Center, Kansas to Albert J. and Clara I. Guenther Ambrose. He was raised and educated in Benedict, Kansas, graduating from Benedict High School in 1933. He attended Emporia Teacher39;s College for three years. He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps on November 21, 1942 and was honorably discharged on February 8, 1946 at the rank of staff sergeant. He worked for Amtrak as a district supervisor and retired after numerous years of service. In 2001, he moved to Fredonia, Kansas from Yuma, Arizona. Albert is survived by four brothers, Vertis Ambrose of Kansas City, Missouri, Don Ambrose and Cecil Ambrose both of Wichita, Kansas, and Norman Ambrose of Olathe, Kansas and two sisters, Arlene Howrey of Hutchinson, Kansas and Nadine Green of Altoona, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Wilbur, Eugene and Marvin, and one sister, Darlene. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha, Kansas. No services are planned at this time.
