Anna Mae Brannum, 94, of Neodesha, passed away Tuesday, December 14, at the Vintage Park of Neodesha. Funeral Services, under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel, will be Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Carl Soliday officiating. Burial will be at the Atlanta Cemetery in Atlanta, Kansas. Friends may stop by to register at the funeral home on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Anna Ann Brannum was born in Lovilla, Iowa to Bert W. and Bessie Funk Runnells on September 13, 1916. Her parents moved to Kansas while she was a young girl. On October 03, 1932, she was married to Lester A. Brannum in Wichita, Kansas, he precedes her in death. Her first and foremost career was that of a mother. She helped her husband run a small grocery store in Russell, Kansas for several years. They moved to Independence, Kansas in 1952. She worked as a clerk at the F.W. Woolworth Store until her retirement. Anna was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She is preceded in death in addition her husband, three sisters Mary, Joe and Ellen and one brother Jack. She is survived by one son Jack E. Brannum of Pella, Iowa, one daughter Meta Goins of Thayer, Kansas, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one greatgreat grandson and many nieces and nephews. The family has suggested memorials to the First Church of the Nazarene or to Hospice Care of Kansas and memorials can be left at the funeral home.
