Betty Lacis

Betty Lacis, 86, of Neodesha, Kansas, passed away on December 29, 2025, at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor.

Betty was born on August 18, 1939, in Knopolis, Kansas, to James Edward LaBarr and Flossie Irene Blevins. She was raised in Neodesha and spent most of her life there, where she was known to many as “Sweet Betty.”

Throughout her working years, Betty was employed at a refinery, a hospital, and also managed a shoe store. She was very social and enjoyed staying active. Betty loved baking, exercising, and especially enjoyed sweets.

She is survived by her brother, David, and her sisters, Delores, Ruby, and Charlotte.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Uldis Lacis; her daughter, Teresa Hoover; her father, James Edward LaBarr; her mother, Flossie Irene Blevins; and her sisters, Mary and Laura.

Viewing will be held Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha.
