Bill Trimmell Billy Bill Trimmell of Neodesha, KS, died Friday, December 04, 2009, at the Wilson Medical Center-Reece Campus. He was 89. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Rev. Dave Cheshier will officiate. Interment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call to register on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday. The son of Milton Anslum and Stella Mae Knox Trimmell, he was born March 6, 1920, in Coyville, KS. He graduated from both Coyville and Fall River High Schools in 1939. On August 20, 1941, he was united in marriage to Margaret Lynam in Independence, KS. She survives at the home. He served as a PFC in the US Army Air Corps from October of 1942 until January of 1946. Mr. Trimmell was a rancher, a fireman and the owner and operator of Trimmell LP Gas and Trimmell Rock Service. He was a member of the Anti-Horse Thief Association, the American Legion in Chanute and the Disabled American Veterans. He had been a resident of Neodesha since 1960 and had been a resident of southeast Kansas all his life. Mr. Trimmell served as mayor of Neodesha in the early 1980s. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joe Allen Trimmell of Wichita, KS, and Max L. Trimmell of Neodesha; two daughters, Sharon Merryman of Neodesha and Diane Holmquist of Osage Beach, MO; three sisters; five grandchildren, Tyson Holmquist, Angela Passantino, Wendy Riley, Joshua Trimmell, and Michael Trimmell; and one great-grandchild, Evanne Riley. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dale, Victor and Luther; and three sisters, Joyce, Lucille and Bonnie. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church and may be left at the funeral home.
