BOBBY G. PENDLETON Bobby Glen Pendleton, 71 of Neodesha, Kansas, died Thursday, September 9, 2004, at Via Christi-St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2004, at the First Christian Church under the direction of Penwell Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha. Rev. Paul Porter and Rev. Jim Bell will officiate. Interment will be in ShellyBethel Cemetery east of Neodesha. The casket has been closed but friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 1-8 p.m. to register. The family may be contacted at the residence of Terry Pendleton, located North of Neodesha on US 75 Highway and east on 700 Road. The son of William Artie and Katie Roscum Riggs Pendleton, he was born March 9, 1933, in Altoona, Kansas. He graduated from Neodesha High School in 1951. He married Evelyn Louise Penn on August 30, 1951, in Neodesha. She survives at the home. Mr. Pendleton worked at Continental Can in Coffeyville from 1951-1956 and Hughes Aircraft in Los Angeles from 1956-60. He then farmed near Cherryvale. After that, he was the assistant manager for the Neodesha Co-op for several years. In 1972, Mr. Pendleton began his career as a truck driver. He drove for Cobalt Boats, IMCO, Southeast Manufacturing, and Prestige Inc. He was semi-retired but still drove for Prestige. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Metro Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Terry of Neodesha, Randy of Shawnee, KS, and Jeff of Neodesha; two sisters, Dorothy Lamendola and Ann Toomey, both of Neodesha; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Mary Johnson; and seven brothers, Ordell, Leon, Gene, Wayne, Floyd, Jack and Larry. Memorial contributions may be made to the NHS Class of 1951 Scholarship Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
