Carl Shafer

Carl Edward Shafer passed away on August 1St 2016 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Neodesha KS,
Carl was born on December 18th 1924 in Farmington KS, to John and Carrie (Olinger) Shafer
He Married Margaret Viola Ware in June, 1943. Four children were born, Judy, Ronald, Donald and Gordon. Carl joined the Navy in WWII and was stationed in the Ulysses Islands until the end of the war. After returning home, he was a farmer, truck driver and the owner and operator of Shafer Plumbing for many years in Neodesha, KS.
Carl was proceeded in death by a sister Marguerite Ropp and Florence Sissom, and brothers William (Bud) Shafer and Charles (Shorty) Shafer and Great Granddaughter Devin Carri Schuster,
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 73 years Margaret, Children Judy Kunkle, Ronald and Phyllis Shafer, Donald and Gloria Shafer and Gordon and Shirley Shafer and 8 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha KS,
Grave side services will be Monday August the 8th 2016 in the Altoona Cemetery in Altoona KS, with Navy Military Rights, Memorials can be made in Carl's name to the Alzheimer's Assn. and can be left with Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha KS, on line condolences can be left to the family by going to www.loranfawcettfuneralhome.com
