Carma Elam

CARMA LOUISE ELAM Carma Louise Elam, age 75 of Neodesha, Kansas, died Friday evening January 11, 2002 at the Beverly Health Rehab in Neodesha, Kansas. Carma was born on January 20, 1926 in Casper, Wyoming to Fred and Ethel Gate Becker. Carma grew up in Wewoka, Oklahoma before moving to Neodesha, Kansas where she graduated from the Neodesha High School. On January 14, 1950 Carma married Leslie G. Elam in Bentonville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1989. Carma worked as a nurses aid for the Wilson County Hospital for over 20 years. She attended the Lords Chapel and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Eagles Auxillary and the Delta Theta Sorority. Survivors include one sister Ruth Pelsor of Richmond, Kansas; one brother Fred Becker of Jenks, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Sherri Gann of Neodesha, Kansas and Lynne Estes of Altoona, Kansas; two great grandchildren Kristen Bronson of Emporia, Kansas and Bethany Bronson of Altoona, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie; twin sister, her parents and one great grandchild. One brother, and one sister. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2002 at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2002 at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Beverly Health Rehab Center and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
