Catherine Thurman

Catherine Anna Thurman passed away peacefully on July 18, 2022, in Kingston, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be Saturday July 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Catholic Cemetery in Neodesha, Kansas.

John Peter and Clara (Gudde) Jansen welcome their fourth daughter Catherine Anna, June 4, 1930, at a home Northeast of Neodesha. She graduated from Altoona High School in 1948. On November 20, 1949, she was united in marriage to Carl (Junior) Thurman, Jr, he preceded her in death March 1, 1974. They spent most of their married life in Neodesha. She worked 15 years as a bookkeeper at the Neodesha COOP. In 1978 she was hired by the Frisco Railroad and worked till her retirement in Enid, OK. She later moved by her daughter to Kingston, OK, and spent her last years surrounded by her family. She was an amazing Mimi to all her grandkids and found lots of joy attending their events and showering them with love, hugs, kisses, presents and prayers.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband and 3 sisters Mary Conway, Rose Whisler and Margaret Cox.

Left behind are her three children, Carlyn Weaver and husband Fred Glen of Kingston, Oklahoma, Martin & wife Jody of Lawrence, KS. and David & wife Michelle of Neodesha, KS. 9 grandchildren Jason Weaver, Jared Weaver, Jamie McNeil, Jeanna Weaver, John Weaver, Jerrold Thurman, Charles Thurman, Shane Botts, Heather Tinger. 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
