 Clayton “Dean” Piatt beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather & uncle, went home to be with his Lord on May 20, 2023 at his home in Arvada, CO.

Dean was born on September 29, 1944, in Neodesha, KS. He attended North Lawn Elementary and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents James “Dusty” Piatt & Betty (Davis) Piatt and his brother Don Piatt. He is survived by his wife of the home, Janice Piatt, his daughter Rebecca (Piatt) Markham and husband Bill Markham of Chanute KS, son Martin Piatt and wife Windy Piatt of Arvada CO, brother Jerry Piatt and wife Sandra Piatt of Neodesha KS, 5 grandchildren & numerous great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

Dean retired as a Sergeant First Class after 23 years in the U.S. Army, many of which were spent in the Army National Guard. He also spent 16 years as a deputy with the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Dept., retiring in 2006.

Visitation will take place at Grace Baptist Church, 1317 N. 7th St. Neodesha, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 31st. Funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 am with burial following at Neodesha Cemetery. To leave the family a special message of condolence, please visit www.loranfawcettfuneralhome.com.
