Lifelong Neodesha resident, Cynthia Ann (Barney) Pendleton, 70, passed away with her family by her side at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha on Monday, December 26, 2022.
Cindy was welcomed into this world on July 18, 1952, in Neodesha, Kansas to Charles and Yvonne (Martinson) Barney. Cindy was a proud member of the graduating class of 1970 at Neodesha High School. On January 23, 1970, Cindy married the love of her life, Terry Pendleton at the First Christian Church in Neodesha. The two were married 52 years, 11 months, and 3 days. After graduating high school, Cindy attended Neosho County Community College earning her nursing degree. Through the years, Cindy worked as a nurse at the Wilson County Hospital, Dr. Moorhead’s office, Golden Keys Nursing Home and Angel’s Home Health.
Nothing was more important to Cindy than family. She adored the family gatherings, especially the monthly birthday dinners. Cindy was a marvelous cook and baker. Many will remember her famous pies and cobblers. She co-owned and operated C & P Catering for several years. During her free time, Cindy loved to go fishing and curl up with a good Stephen King book. She was a member of the First Christian Church for 50 plus years. Cindy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Cindy had the kindest heart and soul, always looking out for the less fortunate, doing whatever she could to help brighten their day.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Yvonne, sister, Linda, grandson, Brock, niece, Missy and father in-law, Bob Pendleton.
Her memory will carry on with her husband, Terry of the home, son, Tony (Tina) of Marietta, GA, daughters, Tara (Jim) Struber of Galva, KS and Talia (Marcus) Leck of Neodesha, KS, grandchildren, Dalton (Lily) Pendleton, O’niesha (Dylan) Morgan, Gatlin (Cass) Pendleton, Anakin Pendleton, Sawyer Pendleton, Jake (Mikayla) Struber, Tyson Struber, Josey (Courtney) Leck, Chelsea (Yacouba) Kinda, Kaylee Leck, Tucker Leck, Tayte Leck, 12 great grandchildren with one on the way, sister, Lisa (David) Schwob, mother in-law, Louise “Gran” Pendleton and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at the First Christian Church in Neodesha on Saturday, January 14th at 11:00 am.
