Dallas H. Welch Dallas Henderson Welch of Parsons, Kansas, died Saturday, February 3, 2007, at Via Christi-St Francis in Wichita, KS. He was 72. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Rev. Dave Cheshier will officiate. Interment will be in the Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. The son of Henderson Jackson and Fannie Ann Croney Welch, he was born May 22, 1934, in Dora, MO. He was raised in Dora and West Plains, MO, where he received his education. He was united in marriage to Mildred Jean Stevens Schweikhard on June 24, 1981, in Lyons, Kansas. The couple lived most of their married life in Lyons where he was an oil field roustabout for the Gabel Well Service in Chase, KS. They later relocated to Carthage, MO, before moving to Parsons nine months ago. Mrs. Welch survives at the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ruth Belknap of Garden City, KS; three step-daughters, Carole Anderson of Neodesha, Juddy Matney of Parsons and Wanda Schweikhard of Fredonia, KS; one step-son, Cecil Schweikhard of Neodesha; four brothers, Merlin of West Plains, MO, Eugene of Arkansas, Doug Mack of Carthage, MO, and Leon of West Plains, MO; three sisters, Nadine Barnett of Lyons, KS; Betty Woods of Arkansas and Ilene Pitts of Willow Springs, MO; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Adam and Wayman; and four sisters, Edith, Lorene, Geneva and Ruth.
