Dean C. Wilson age 86, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Neodesha City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 68 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel. The family has suggested memorials be made to American Diabetes Association and may be left at the funeral home.
Dean was born on March 19. 1927 in Elk City, Kansas to Horace and Ruth Goodwin Wilson. He grew up in Elk City and graduated from Independence High School. He joined the Army Air Forces on January 24, 1948 and was honorable discharged on March 4, 1947. After his discharge he went to electrical school in Kansas City.
Dean married Dolores Ross on June 8, 1948 in Neodesha, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2011. He worked from Standard Oil Refinery in Neodesha for 18 years, until it closed then he farmed until his retirement.
Survivors are one son, Mike Wilson and his wife Alyson of Wichita, Kansas daughters, Betty Wilson and Kim Wilson of Neodesha, Kansas one brother, Merle Wilson of Independence, Kansas one sisterinlaw, Dorothy Wilson of Neodesha, Kansas six grandchildren, Michelle Radeliffe, Eric Wilson, Lesley Buster, Amy Arrons, Amber Buster and Sherry Canales great grandchildren, Paige Kennedy, Kailen Burnett, Leah Womeldorf, Angela Canales, Kelly Pouncil, Jordan Burnett, Maci Aarons, Camile Pouncil, Nichols Pouncil, Jack Wilson one great great grandson, J Cruz nephew Larry Landis of PA two niece, Gayle Crump of Wichita, Kansas and Barbara Lasaster of Independence, Kansas.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Wilson one sister Betty Jean Landis and one grandson, Jason Wilson.
