Deanna Jo Goodwin, 69 passed away at her home in Neodesha, Kansas on Wednesday September 11, 2013.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Christ Church in Neodesha, under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha, Kansas. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made in Deanna Jos memory to Mercy Hospice of Independence and may be left with the funeral home. Deanna Jo was born on October 16, 1943 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Glen Edward and Dorolis Catherine Loretta Smith Bowen Sr. She grew up in Pittsburg and graduated from high school there in 1961.

She married the love her life Raymond Goodwin on September 17, 1976 in Miami, Oklahoma. They resided in Mulberry, Kansas before moving to Neodesha 27 years ago. She was a member of the Christ Church and had her own music ministry. Deanna Jo had a passion for caring for others needs above her own she collected clothing to help in providing with the needs of Indian Tribes in Oklahoma.
Survivors in addition to her husband Raymond of the home are two sons, Mark Anthony Clay of Fredonia, KS, Michael Todd Clay of Pittsburg, KS two daughters, Jody Gayle Simmons of Franklin, KS and Kimberly Denise Branham of Neodesha, KS a brother, Glen Edward Bowen, Jr. of Dallas, TX two sisters, Loretta Guille of Pearl River, LA and Glenda Whithill of Tiff City, MO fifteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Darlene Bowen and one brother, Bill Bowen.
