Dennis Dean Files, 67, of Neodesha, KS, passed away Wednesday, June 8th 2016 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha.
Dennis was born December 21, 1948 in Henryetta, OK, the son of Max T. and Phyllis (Grant) Files. He grew up in Tulsa and later returned to Henryetta where he graduated High School in 1967. After graduation Dennis enlisted in the US Navy where he served 8 years.
Dennis worked several different jobs throughout his life, as well as being the drummer for the band Haywire for over 35 years. He loved music and was proud of the recording of the Haywire album. He was also a trustee and member of the Eagles Club in Neodesha. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include: five daughters; Dawn and husband Robert Kaufman of Neodesha, Denise Smith of Thornton, CO, Teri Files of Summerville, SC, Andrea Kelley of Independence, KS, Jayne and husband Shane Lowry of Mena, AR; and one sister, Jan and husband Jim Botts also of Neodesha. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Sabrina, Keaton, Zain, Chance, Levi, Austin, Ryleigh, Nathan, Houston, Jaxson, and Memphis, as well as one great-grandson, Elijah and one niece, Nicole. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 13th, 2016 at Christ Church. Friends may leave online condolences at www.loranfawcettfuneralhome.com
