Edith M. Osterbuhr Edith Marie Osterbuhr of Neodesha died Friday,September 18, 2009, at Wilson Medical Center-Reece Campus. She was 95. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the United Methodist Church in Neodesha. Reverends Kris Brinlee and Roger Gausman will officiate. Interment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. The Family will be accepting friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha. Mrs. Osterbuhr was born July 11, 1914 in Hildreth, Nebraska, the daughter of Anna and Henry Gausman. She was a 1932 Graduate of Odell High School, Odell, Nebraska, where she was the center on the Basketball Team. She attended college in Kearney, Nebraska. She moved to Neodesha in 1938 to work for her brother Dr. W. C. Gausman in his dental practice. Mrs. Osterbuhr later assumed the duties of homemaker and mother. A devout community member and loyal to Neodesha, Mrs. Ostebuhr was active in the Neodesha Music Club and the Marcattos and was an active member in the P.E.O. and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Rotary Anns, the Zion Lutheran Church in Independence and the United Methodist Church in Neodesha. She loved to play golf and was a member of the Independence Country Club. An avid sports fan, she rarely missed a Neodesha High School sporting event and was a season ticket holder of the Kansas Jayhawks Football games for over 35 years. She married Dale L. Osterbuhr in Wichita, Kansas on June 18, 1943. He preceded her in death July 21, 1999. Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Bob Osterbuhr of La Mesa, Ca. and Richard W. Dick Osterbuhr of Neodesha; one sister Berneice McNeice of Sun City, AZ; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Homer, Julius, and William Doc Gausman. Memorials may be made to the Neodesha United Methodist Church or P.E.O. Chapter T and may be left the funeral home.
