ELEANOR Ellie L. HARE Eleanor Ellie L. Hare, 78, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Sunday morning, September 05, 2004 at the Wilson County Hospital, Neodesha, Kansas. Daughter of Mary Catherine Hopping and Oscar Floren Hummel of Cherryvale, Kansas was born March 31, 1926. She was raised and educated in Cherryvale. She married Lewis Hare on June 25, 1942 in Neodesha, Kansas where they made their home. Lewis preceded her in death on June 15, 1986. Ellie sold toys for thirteen years and also worked as a cashier at the Self Service Grocery, I.G.A., Farm Fresh, Town Country, Greaves, and Caseys. She was a life member of the First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was also the church clerk and a trustee for three years. She attended the Grace Baptist Church. She also served as a board member of the Grandview Cemetery and was an avid campaigner for the cleanup and restoration of the cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Renee Hare and a son, Jerald R. Hare both of Neodesha, Kansas; two sisters, Patty Mitchell of Bullhead, Arizona and Betty Heape of Independence, Kansas; and five grandchildren, Regan Anderes, Sicily Anderes, Alexis Anderes, Krysten Ramey and Sydney Dent. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Jolene Petras, Isabel Kesler, Irene Olthoff and Maxine Cole; and one brother, Leon Hummel. Visitation hours for Eleanor will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2004 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The family may be reached at the home of Jerald Hare, 909 N. 7th, Neodesha, Kansas. Funeral services for Eleanor Louise Hare will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel with Reverend Raymond Newman of Coffeyville officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery, rural Neodesha, Kansas. The family has requested memorial contributions to the Grandview Cemetery Perpetual Care. Memorials may be left with the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel, 704 Indiana, Neodesha, Kansas 66757.
