Erin Patterson

d. August 16, 2011

Erin Colleen Patterson, 78, passed away peacefully at Golden Living Center, Neodesha, on Monday, August 15. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho on March 6, 1933, to Lloyd B. and Audrey L. Davis Patterson, and lived in Neodesha from 1944 until her passing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly, and a brother, Jack. Despite having to cope with cruel and incurable lifelong disabilities, Erin never allowed her physical limitations to daunt her remarkable spirit. She was loving, kind, generous, intelligent and witty, and everyone who ever came into contact with Erin was made to feel special, somehow knowing that they had encountered a truly inspirational child of God. Erin loved so many things about life and living going to church, her menagerie of stuffed animals, Aunt Bettys lemon cake, Wheel of Fortune, DQ burgers and shakes and dressing up painted nails, pierced earrings, fancy shoes, anything pink, the brighter the better, to name just a few. But the most important thing to Erin was the friendships that she made over the years. All who knew Erin were infinitely richer for it. While she leaves only a handful of relatives, including Margie Gray, Morris Forsythe, Eden CooperMilsap and husband, Dean, Patrick Patterson and wife, Barbie and Mike Patterson and wife, Paula, she leaves literally hordes of friends, including Susan Apollo a true angel. The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks to all of the caring staff at both Golden Living and Golden Keys, who took such great care of Erin for so many years. Final respects may be paid at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, from 127pm on Friday, August 19, where family and friends will greet visitors from 57pm. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, August 20, at Altoona Cemetery. The family requests no flowers, instead suggesting that those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Erins honor do so with the Bible Baptist Church of Neodesha or a charity of their choice.
