Etta M. Tallman Etta Mae Tallman of Neodesha, KS, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at the Wilson Medical Center Reece Campus. She was 83. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the First Southern Baptist Church under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Dallas Martin will officiate. Interment will be in Morehead Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. The daughter of Edward and Mary Etta Carter Bolejack, she was born August 21, 1925, in Golden, CO. She grew up in western Kansas and graduated from Garden City High School. She married James Lloyd Wilson in Kansas City, MO. They lived for many years in Washington before moving to Neodesha. He preceded her in death in 1966. She married Clarence Tallman in 1984 in Independence, KS. He preceded her in death in 2005. Etta returned to school in 1974, obtaining her LPN license from Independence Community College. She later received her RN license from Labette County Community College. She served as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Independence and Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, KS. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and loved to make quilts. Survivors include four sons, Tom Wilson of Fredonia, KS, Jim Wilson of Independence, KS, Eugene Wilson of Hanover, IN, and Richard Wilson of Plattsmouth, NE; three daughters, Jackie Anderson of Neodesha, Jessie Ritzline of Deputy, IN, and Mary Lee of Bernice, OK; one brother, Ernest Bolejack of Canadian, TX; 41 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Patricia and Linda, and three grandchildren, Steve, Rebecca and Matthew. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the First Southern Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
