Evelyn Elizabeth Betty Bacon, age 96 of Neodesha, Kansas died Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Regal Estates Nursing Home in Independence, Kansas.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Church of the Ascension, Episcopal in Neodesha, Kansas with the Reverend Gerald Eytcheson officiating under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Wilson Medical Center for Mammography Equipment and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas.
Betty was born August 14, 1916 in Neodesha, Kansas to John W. and Rose Park Deer. She attended schools in Neodesha and graduated from the Neodesha High School. She married F.E. Bob Bacon in 1940. They returned to Neodesha after WWII and the Korean conflict. They owned and operated Bob Bacon Real Estate Insurance. Bob and Betty worked together for fifty years. Betty was a real estate insurance broker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a devoted wife, and loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in January 2001. Also by her brothers, Wesley, John, Jerry, and Elmer.
She is survived by her son Richard Dick Bacon and wife Beth of Golden, Colorado and her daughter Julie Bacon of Wathena, Kansas Two grandsons Brent Bacon and wife Jessica of Charlotte, N.C. and John Bacon and wife Martha Casterson of Golden, Colorado, one great granddaughter Ayla Odins, and great grandson, James Bacon of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
