Forest J. Tincknell Forest J. Tincknell of Neodesha, KS, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at the Wilson County Hospital. He was 85. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2007, at the Bethel Church of God under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Interment will be in Choteau Cemetery east of Sycamore, KS. A detachment from Fort Riley will accord military honors at the graveside. Friends may call to register Thursday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The son of Ira G. and Ethel B. Taylor Tincknell, he was born January 6, 1922, in Sycamore, KS, on the family farm. He received his education in rural Sycamore and Independence, graduating from Independence High School. He was united in marriage to Maria Sanchez Ellison on September 5, 1971, in Neodesha. She survives at the home. He served with the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the family farm where continued to farm until recently. While farming, he served with the Montgomery County Sheriffs department as a night patrolman for 10 years. Mr. Tincknell then was employed by the Neodesha Police Department where he remained until retiring after 20 years of service. Following that, he served as a jailer for the Wilson County Sheriffs Department until retiring in 1992. Forest was member of the Maple Grove Church of God, the American Legion and served as a 4-H leader for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jack Ellison of Cherryvale; a daughter, Sheila Minnich of Midwest City, OK; six grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest and Garland; and one grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and may be left at the funeral home.
