Frances M. Howard Frances M. Howard of Neodesha, KS, formerly of Alameda, CA, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, at the Wilson Medical Center-Reece Campus. She was 83. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Christ Church. The Reverend Dave Cheshier will officiate. Mrs. Howard will be entombed at Fry Mausoleum in Tracy, CA, at a later date. Friends may call to register on Tuesday from 1-5 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The daughter of William F. and Mable Brady Leitch Kirby, she was born January 17, 1926, in Annapolis, MD, where she received her education. On May 10, 1944, she was united in marriage to John O. Howard in Annapolis. He preceded her in death December 3, 1990. Mrs. Howard was a grocery clerk for Grand Market in Alameda, CA, for 25 years. She moved to Neodesha in 2006 after having resided in Alameda for 62 years. She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo. Frances was a member of Christ Church and the VFW Post 5962 Ladies Auxiliary in Neodesha. She is survived by her companion, Nello Carucci of the home; one daughter, Robin Garcia and her husband Roy of Tracy, CA; one half-brother, Ritchie Brady; three grandsons, John A. Garcia of Neodesha, and Joaquin and Rosario Garcia of Tracy, CA; and six great-grandsons. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Dianne Cohee; her son-in-law, Charles Cohee; two brothers, Norman and Ralph; four sisters, Elizabeth, Elsie, Irma and Louise; and one half-sister, Hazel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dianne Cohee Memorial Foundation.
