Frank Green

December 2, 1932 — September 8, 2016

Frank M (IKE) Green, 83, a resident of rural Altoona KS, died Thursday, September 8th 2016 at his home. He was born December 2nd 1932 at rural Altoona KS, the son of Frank and Beryl (Richardson) Green. On September 16th 1960 he was united in marriage to Nadine Ambrose and she survives at the home. Also surviving are two sons; Don and Ron Green and one daughter Susan Browne all of Altoona KS, three sisters Patricia Hatfield of Coffeyville KS, Carol Bradford of Altoona KS, and Beryldean Rehies of Wichita KS, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Frank was a lifelong farmer and was formerly employed as a truck driver for Prestige Inc. of Neodesha Kansas and Tobacco Row of Independence KS. Frank was also a 60 year member of Masonic Lodge #403 of Benedict KS, and serve in the U.S. Army from 1952- 1955.
Frank was involved in the organization of the Altoona Wagon Train in 1960. During his 12 years of driving a semi-truck for Prestige, he traveled a total of 1,143,089 miles and was in every state except Alaska and Hawaii and made several trips into Canada. Frank retired December 30th 2001.
Frank is preceded in death by one daughter Sandra and one great granddaughter, his parents and his brother Allen.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha KS.
A memorial service will be Saturday September 24th 2016 at 2:00pm at the United Methodist Church in Altoona KS, and a private burial service will be at a later date. Visitation will be Friday September 23rd 2016 from 9:00am to 8:00pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha KS.
