Glenn K. Weatherby Jr. Glenn Karl Weatherby Jr. of Quinlan, TX, died June 4, 2007, in Bonham, TX. He was 85. Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2007, at Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Reverend Kris Brinlee will officiate. Military honors will be afforded by a detachment from McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita. The son of Glenn and Frances Obrien Weatherby Sr., he was born June 8, 1921, in Neodesha, KS. He was baptized as a youth at the First Christian Church and was the student body president in high school. After graduating from Neodesha High School, he declined a Naval Academy appointment to study chemical engineering at Kansas State University. At KSU, he was an honor student and a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Glenn served in World War II as a Marine pilot and instructor and, after leaving the service, was Lt. Colonel in the Air National Guard until his retirement. He was employed by Procter and Gamble. He was member of the Kiwanis International and also volunteered for many causes and organizations that he thought were important. He became a Methodist after marrying Mary in Dallas, TX, in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Mary; three daughters, Tina Carvalho and her husband Carl of Hawaii, Lisa Weatherby of Hawaii, and Dana Patchett of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Dave and his wife Lenore of Indianola, IA; a granddaughter, Kim Carvalho; and two grandsons, Matthew and Brandon Patchett.
