Harold Gibson Harold Price Gibson of Altoona, Kansas, died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Wesley Medical Center. He was 84. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha. The Reverend Edgar Wegener will officiate. Interment will be in Altoona Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. The son of Melvin Jasper and Ethel L. Cranor Gibson, he was born August 14, 1921, in Altoona, Kansas. He was raised in Altoona and graduated from Altoona High School in 1939. Mr. Gibson served in the US Army during WWII as a medic. He attended the Church of the Nazarene in Chanute. As a member of the Gospel Troubadours, he enjoyed displaying his musical talents, especially by performing in area nursing homes. Mr. Gibson was a self-employed painter. Survivors include a nephew, Larry Wolkins and his wife Lois of Grand Prairie, TX; three grandnieces, Lori Scott Kroh, Lisa Wolkins and Lana and her husband Jeff Montgomery; two great-grandnieces and one grandnephew, Olivia, Sophia and Blake. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International. Condolences may be expressed at www.penwellgabel.com.
