HAROLD C. HUB OSBURN Harold C. Hub Osburn, 80, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the Wilson County Hospital, Neodesha, Kansas. Harold was born December 14, 1925 in rural Neodesha, Kansas to Oliver E. Barney and Bertha A. Hawthorne Osburn. He was raised and educated in Neodesha. Harold entered the U.S. Navy on February 1, 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He served 8 years in the Navy Reserve. On March 17, 1948, Harold married Dorothy Kleopfer in Coffeyville, Kansas and she preceded him in death on January 9, 1998. They made their home in Neodesha where he worked for the Standard Oil Refinery for 19 years and later worked for the City of Neodesha. Harold was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Neodesha and a life member of the VFW Post 5962 of Neodesha. Harold is survived by two sons, Randy Osburn of Kansas City, Kansas and Mike Osburn and his wife, Julie of Neodesha, Kansas; one daughter-in-law, Margaret A. Osburn of Magnolia, Texas: one sister, Dorothy LaForte of Neodesha, Kansas; three brothers, Howard Osburn of Neodesha, Kansas, Jim Osburn of Amarillo, Texas and Kenneth Osburn of Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kenneth; two brothers, Marvin and Orlie; and two sisters, Lola Bomboy and Donna Jean Osburn. Visitation hours for Harold will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Funeral services for Harold C. Hub Osburn will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor DeWayne Prosser officiating. Burial will follow at the Shelly Bethel Cemetery with Military Honors provided by U.S. Army, Fort Riley. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Bible Baptist Church, 1100 N. 4th, Neodesha, Kansas 66757. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.
