Janet Postier

Janet Ann Postier, 77, retired teacher passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018.She was born February 27,1941 to CH (Dutch) and Winifred (Spain) Postier. Janet graduated from Plevna High School in 1959, Sterling College in 1962 with a BS degree and from Pittsburg State University in 1991 with a MS degree. Janet taught High School Business Education in Preston and Montezuma, Kansas. In 1967 she moved to Neodesha, KS to teach Business Education, and remained a teacher there until her retirement in 1997. Janet loved teaching and she loved all of her students. She was a member of the Neodesha United Methodist Church, and became a certified lay speaker. She was also a member of the Four County Mental Health Board, and a member of the USD461 Board of Education. Janet was the first single person to adopt a child in the state of Kansas. She adopted Jennifer in 1976. She was preceded in death by her parent's CH (Dutch) and Winifred Postier. Janet is survived by her daughter Jennifer(Bill) Cashero,Neodesha, her grandchildren Jeff Postier, Bri Ann Young, and Lilli Cashero, Neodesha. One great-granddaughter, Brogan Young.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Neodesha United Methodist Church, 802 Indiana St in Neodesha, at 2:00 PM. Reception will follow.
