Jerald R. Hare Jerald Ray Hare of Neodesha, KS, died Monday morning, Dec. 4, 2006, at the Wilson County Hospital in Neodesha. He was 52. At his request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Grandview Cemetery. The son of Lewis and Eleanor Hummel Hare, he was born September 14, 1954 on the Potawatami Reservation in Mayetta, Kansas. He graduated from Neodesha High School in 1972 and later attended Rogers State in Claremore, Oklahoma, and Haskell Indian Nation University in Lawrence, KS. He entered the US Marines in 1974 and was honorably discharged in 1976. He had worked as an EMT in Tulsa, OK, and also worked as a medicine aide in area nursing homes. Survivors include a sister, Rene Hare of Neodesha; a lifelong friend, Richard Patterson of Neodesha, his daughters, Laura Dent of Neodesha and Kimberly Anderes of Enterprise, KS, a step-son, Keith Franks of Redfield, KS; and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be given to the Potawatomi Education Department, 16281 Q Road, Mayetta, KS 66509.
