Jerry Champlin, 70, of Neodesha passed away January 15, 2014 at the Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Neodesha City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Loran Fawcett Chapel. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donors choice these may be left with the funeral home.
Jerry was born March 26, 1943 in Kennett, Missouri to Albert and Ruby ONeal Champlin. He grew up and attended school in Kennett and went to work for Emerson Electric Company in Kennett when he was 18. He later moved to the Emerson Plant in Ava, Missouri then to the Emerson Plant in Independence, Kansas in 1986 where he was supervisor over the Paint Line until his retirement in 1995.
On February 18, 1971 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Vickie Bean in Malden, Missouri. He became coowner of C S Furniture in Neodesha in 1993 and moved to Neodesha in 1994 and ran the furniture store until 2006. Jerry was a life member of the Eagles in Kennett, Missouri and was a member of the JCs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jamie Brock of Kennett, Missouri, Jerris Conway and husband, Patrick of Neodesha, Kansas and by four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
