Kayla Marie (Reynolds) Richardson, 65, passed away at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas on Sunday, July 10, 2022. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel.
Kayla was welcomed into this world on March 17, 1957 to Kenneth and Carolyn (Gibbs) Reynolds in San Diego, California. When Kayla was a teenager she moved to Cherryvale, Kansas and made her home. She attended Cherryvale High School and later earned her Cosmetologist license after graduating from Independence Community College’s Cosmetology School. Through the years, Kayla wore many hats, she was a mother first and for most, but she worked as CNA, she worked on a farm and owned her own beauty salons. Many will remember her in her purple jackets at Scissor Wizards in Cherryvale or at Hairo Dynamics also in Cherryvale.
Kayla loved to attend local music festivals and concerts. She had a deep love of music. Kayla also loved horses, when it came to horses, there wasn’t much that Kayla didn’t know. She trained many service dogs through the years also. Many will remember Kayla for her sense of humor. Wherever Kayla was at she would eventually have the entire room in stitches, telling jokes and playing practical jokes. Kayla will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Carolyn Reynolds, grandchildren, Meadow Marie Pauline H’Luz and Taurus Kreedence Hamilton, brother Kenny Reynolds and sister, Tammy Reynolds.
Kayla’s memory will carry on with her son, Kreed Hamilton of Parsons, KS, daughter, Kara Hamilton of Omaha, NE, stepdaughters, Missy and Sarah Garten of Texas, and her grandchildren, Dawson Rottler, Kaden Hamilton, Thorn Hamilton, Riahannon Knapp and Christian Hamilton. A Celebration of Kayla’s life will be held at Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS on Friday, August 19th at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends an hour before the service at 10:00 AM.
