Kenneth John Schooley, age 96 of Neodesha, Kansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Shelley Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel. Friends may leave online condolences at www.loranfawcettfuneralhome.com.

The family has suggested memorials to the Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha, Kansas, and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Kenneth was born December 16, 1921 at his Grandma Schooley's house in Clay Center, Kansas to Charles Wesley and Edna Bertha Elizabeth (Egdorf) Schooley. He grew up in Clay Center, Kansas and graduated from the Clay County High School in 1940.

On May 27th 1948 Kenneth married Maxine Eleanor Wichman in Clay Center, Kansas. The couple made their home in Clay Center, Kansas until moving to Neodesha, Kansas in 1998. Kenneth worked at Sears in Clay Center, Kansas at time of his marriage. In 1950 he began farming and doing construction part time. In 1964 Kenneth started dairy farming as well as his carpentry work until 1978. From 1976 to 1980 Kenneth also worked at the Big Lakes Developmental Center. He worked at Hutchinson Manufacturing from 1993 to 1998 when he retired. After retiring Kenneth began working for Cobalt Boats as a part time janitor for five years. Kenneth was a member of the Hays Methodist Church and the Four Mile Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas before becoming a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha, Kansas. He also helped the Neodesha Booster Club make emblems for the "Home of the Neodesha Bluestreak" sign.

Survivors include one son Gary Schooley and wife Paula of Abilene, Kansas; two daughters D'Ann Adams and husband Don of Neodesha, Kansas and Karolyn Schultz and husband Gary also of Neodesha; 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Lora Schooley in 2009, two brothers, three sisters, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
