Kim Clanton

July 14, 1960 — April 7, 2023

Neodesha

Kim Elizabeth Clanton of Neodesha passed away April 7, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was 62. Her beloved daughter Kayla, as well as her sister Connie, and nephew Jackson were with her as she began her final journey.

She was born on July 14, 1960, to Jack Clanton (deceased) and Sandra (Thomas) Kulb in Neodesha, Kansas. In 1965 she moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area where she resided until returning to Neodesha in 2020. She graduated from Coronado High School, Scottsdale, in 1978, and attended Mesa Community College.

As a teenager she developed a close friendship with a senior neighbor, Jean, who was confined to a wheelchair with MS. Jean loved to travel, and "hired" Kimmy to accompany her to help with her needs. Two of those special trips were to Hawaii and Disneyland. That experience may have inspired her to pursue a career as a CNA, providing support and loving care in nursing homes and homecare.

Kim is survived by daughter Kayla Choate (Nick) of Seminole OK, son Derek Clanton of Phoenix, four grandchildren, mother Sandra (Thomas) Kulb (Bayard) Mesa AZ, Sandy (Clanton) Kingston (Ken) of Neodesha, uncle Jack Thomas of Bogue, KS, and many, other cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, at Grandview cemetery, Neodesha, with Pastor Brian Rothgeb officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity close to your heart.
