Laura Ellen Gildart Laura Ellen Gildart of Neodesha, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha. She was 80. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Inurnment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 26, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The daughter of Leif and Marie Montague Erickson, she was born December 5, 1927, in Chanute, KS. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1945 and later graduated from a school of cosmetology in Kansas City in 1947. On March 4, 1951, she was united in marriage to Roy Gildart in Chanute, KS. He survives at the home. The couple resided in Thayer from 1951-1963 before moving to Neodesha. Mrs. Gildart was a beauty operator in Thayer, KS. She also was an AVON representative in Neodesha. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Randy and his wife Molly of Neodesha and Rick and his wife Tammy of Neodesha; one daughter, Jackie Lowry and her husband Bill of Neodesha; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Hazel Moore. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders and may be left with the funeral home.
