Lawrence (Larry) Allen McKellar, 67, of Neodesha, entered God’s Kingdom on May 1st, 2023. He passed from a short battle of pneumonia at Wilson County Hospital. He was born on May 28th, 1955 in Neodesha, KS.
Larry was preceded in death by the mother of his children Marilyn (Churchman) McKellar, brother Billy McKellar and parents Francis Park and Florence (Thompson) McKellar.
He is survived by his wife Sue, sons, Andrew, Ian, Graham and stepdaughters, Carly Mayhood, Jill Mayhood and Liz (Mayhood) Morrison; brother Frank and sister, Karen (Mckellar) Hoffman, grandchildren Colin, Corbin, Kelton, Sawyer, Sean, Axel, Stella and Silas and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Larry started his drafting career at Contractor Engineer Company, Custom Forms Associate, then spent several years at Service and Technology Corporation in Bartlesville and started LAMIGO drafting prior to his employment at RK Steel of Fredonia where he retired as a Senior Project Manager in March of 2019.
Larry put God, children, and wife first in his life. He was a man of adventure, a pilot, motorcyclist, and he most enjoyed four wheeling in Pitkin, Colorado. In his retirement, he grew to appreciate the quiet and peace of fishing.
He was an active member of the praise and worship band of Christ Church, Neodesha singing and playing the bass guitar.
He was loved by one and all. He gave everything to everybody, heart, and soul.
The family will greet friends at Christ Church on Thursday, May 4th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Christ Church in Neodesha on Friday evening, May 5th at 7:00pm.
