Lora Schooley On June 20, 1949, a special little girl was born Now, 60 years later on Independence Day, July 4, 2009, this special little girl was set at liberty in Jesus Christ and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Lora Lee Schooley of Neodesha, KS, died at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Jim Logan will officiate. Interment will be in Shelly Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home to register and view on Tuesday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. The daughter of Kenneth and Maxine Wichman Schooley, she was born June 20, 1949, in Clay Center, KS. She received her education in Clay Center where she attended Big Lakes Developmental Center for 16 years. In 1998, she moved to Neodesha with her parents and attended New Beginnings for five years. Lora was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha. Survivors include her parents, Kenneth and Maxine Schooley of Neodesha; one brother, Gary Schooley and his wife Paula of Abilene, KS; two sisters, DAnn Adams and her husband Don of Neodesha and Karolyn Schultz and her husband Gary of Neodesha; seven nephews; six nieces; three great-nephews and two great-nieces. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and one niece, Nichole Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Big Lakes Developmental Center in Clay Center or New Beginnings in Neodesha and may be left at the funeral home.
