Loran Brown

November 24, 1935 — November 28, 2017

Loran D. Brown, 82, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at the Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. He was born November 24, 1935 in Thayer, Kansas to Delver and Neva Brown (McCoy). He attended Altoona High School and then proceeded to work for Midwest Minerals, where he dedicated 45 years of service. He married the love of his life, Janice Ann Davis on April 14, 1956. They were happily married and still as in love 61 years later. She survives of the home. Loran retired in 1997, allowing him to spend more time with his family and participating in the hobbies he love the most: hunting, fishing, and watching KU basketball. He cherished his family above all else and was a faithful servant to the Lord. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha, Kansas for many years where he served as an usher.
Surviving are his wife Janice of the home, three children: Debi Cramer and husband Jason Cramer of Chanute, Randy Brown and wife Tara Brown of Altoona, and Connie Neuhofel of Lawrence. He has nine grandchildren: Chad Estes and wife Blaine Estes of Fredonia, Kansas, Jill Costin and husband Justin Costin of Buffalo, Kansas, Brad Estes and wife Kristen Estes of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Danelle Brown of Altoona, Kansas, Austin Brown of Pittsburg, Kansas, Ryan Neuhofel and wife Andi Neuhofel of Lawrence, Kansas, Krystal Neuhofel of Dallas, Texas, Tayelor Davis and husband Blake Davis of Meriden, Kansas, and Maya Berry of Lawrence, Kansas. In addition to his grandchildren, he is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
Loran was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, at 10 am at the Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Altoona cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 1st from 6-8 pm at the Grace Baptist Church.
