Loretta Sue (Vandermark) Nez, 73, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 04th at Wilson County Medical Center. Cremation is under the direction of Loran Fawcett Funeral Home of Neodesha. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Community Church of God in Neodesha, Kansas

Sue was born August 17, 1944 in Independence, Kansas to Irvin and Mabel (Gross) Vandermark. She attended schools in Independence and Neodesha. Sue was artistically talented and pursued advanced art classes in early adulthood.

Sue worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas until 1979. She later worked in interior renovations for both residential and business which kept her traveling a great deal of the time until her retirement. Sue enjoyed oil painting and being with family. She was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church of God.

Sue is survived by her husband Ben of 38 years; son Bill Newton and wife Teresa of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; daughter Teri George and husband John of Independence, Kansas; son Andy Nez of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren Brandy and husband Aaron Hutchins of Fort Drum, New York; Ashley Newton of Kahului, Hawaii; Lillian Newton of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Nolan Nez of Wichita, Kansas; Amber Newton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Amber Newton of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; great grandchildren Mackenzie, Audrey and Ayden of Fort Drum, New York; sisters Wanda Wright of Linden, California; Retha Ann and husband Bill Fairbanks of Neodesha, Kansas; and Catherine Bullock of Independence Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Bradley Newton, and grandsons Christopher Newton and Bo Newton.
