Lowell E. Howell, 81 of Neodesha, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at his home. Funeral Services, under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel, will be held on Friday, June 03, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha with Pastor Jim Logan officiating. Friends may call to register at the Loran Fawcett Chapel on Thursday, June 02, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Neodesha Cemetery. Lowell Edward Howell was born on May 20, 1930 in Lafontaine, Kansas the son of Sidney Howell and Myrtle Moke Howell. Lowell received his education in the Neodesha school districts. He was employed by Standard Refinery in Neodesha until its closure and then went to work for the Derby Refinery in Wichita, Kansas until his retirement. Lowell married Rosemary Davis in May of 1947 and they later divorced but born into this union was three daughters Carolyn, Diana and Charlotte. He then married Wanda Easter on June 13, 1964 and she survives of the home. Lowell was a member of the Hazeldell Church of Rural Cherryvale. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and his lifelong passion was playing the guitar and singing country and gospel music. He is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home, his three daughters Carolyn Jump amp husband Larry of Independence, Kansas, Charlotte Delong amp husband Bob and Diana Mitchell of Neodesha, Kansas four stepsons Wendall Lampley amp wife Glenda of Salisaw, OK, Wesley Lampley of Houston, TX, Ray Lampley of Spokane, WA and Russell Lampley of Knoxville, TN seven grandchildren, twenty greatgrandchildren and two greatgreat grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and six sisters. The family has suggested memorials to the Hazeldell Church and memorials can be left in care of the funeral home.
