Mable A. McCormack Mable Alberta McCormack of Neodesha, KS, died Monday, August 10, 2009, at the Wilson Medical Center Reece Campus. She was 95. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2009, at the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship in Altoona under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Jim Raymond will officiate. Interment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. The daughter of George and Opal Hoag Hines, she was born July 3, 1914, in Stockton, CA. She attended school in Tulsa, OK. On April 7, 1932, she was united in marriage to Lester Leo McCormack in Fredonia, KS. He preceded her in death April 22, 1996. Mrs. McCormack was a homemaker and a member of the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship, the Royal Neighbors and the Rebekahs. For a time, she was employed by Prestige Cabinets as an inspector. She also loved to hunt, fish, garden and entertain her grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Leon McCormack of Preston, OK; five daughters, Ruby McCormack of Independence, KS, Barbara Hughes of Altamont, KS, Nancy Shultz of Neodesha, KS, Carol Letcher of Craig, CO, and Becky Scott of Neodesha, KS; one sister, Betty Kidd of Sapulpa, OK; 20 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Wayne, Edward, Elmer, and Eugene; three sisters, Virginia, Hazel and Marie; one grandson; one granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship or the Golden Living Center and left at the funeral home.
