Eva May Sherbenou Eva May Sherbenou of Neodesha, died Monday, January 07, 2008, at the Golden Living Center. She was 98. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the Altoona Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The casket has been closed. The daughter of Roy and Eva Hartwell Hogan, she was born July 28, 1909, in Austin, MN. She was united in marriage to Claude M. Sherbenou on January 12, 1925. He preceded her in death February 16, 1977. Mrs. Sherbenou lived most of her life in Kansas and was employed for many years at Electra in Independence, KS, as an assembly line worker. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Doris Sherbenou of Topeka; one half-brother, Dale Ho-gan of Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Claudia McCarley and her husband Harry of Aberdeen, MS, and Linda Riddell and her husband, Tim of Topeka, KS; three great-grandchildren, Mike McCarley, Christy McCarley and Jennifer Hermann; two great-great-granddaughters; and one niece Coleen Wilson of Topeka, KS. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Claude Jr.; two brothers; three half-brothers; and two half-sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the Golden Living Center Activity Fund.
