Mark Foster Shiverdecker passed away on October 7, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born on March 3, 1952 to Joe and Dixie Shiverdecker in Fulton, Missouri. His family moved to Pittsburg, Kansas in 1963. He attended College High there and served in the United States Air Force before graduating from Pitt State. He married Connie Otto on December 7, 1979 in Parkville, Missouri. Over the last 43 years they have lived in St. Louis and Belton Missouri, before moving to Neodesha in October of 1996.
Mark was the town Santa for the last three years and loved it! He loved his family and friends, the Chiefs, fishing and Neodesha. He was always up for some political banter between friends and family on Facebook. He started his own small business in 2007 – The Uniform Store. His daughter, Erica became his partner shortly after and she and her husband Justin now run the business he loved. He attended St. Ignatius parish as an “honorary Catholic” since moving to Neodesha and decided to make it official the day before he passed away.
Mark is survived by Connie, his wife, his son Gabe Shiverdecker of Girard, his daughter Erica and husband Justin of Neodesha, his brother Ronnie of Cherokee and sister Barb and her husband Barry of Joplin, grandsons Lane Edson and his wife Leah, Rob Edson, Elijah Shiverdecker and Ian Shiverdecker, granddaughters, Brynlyn Huguenin and Emmy Jo Huguenin, plus in-laws and nieces and nephews too numerous to count.
Mark loved to joke and give people a hard time to the very end. He will be missed by us all.
Memorial contributions can be made to Neodesha Riverwalk Park bench fund for a bench in Mark’s memory.
Funeral mass will be at St Ignatius in Neodesha, KS, 801 N. 8th St. on Friday October 14th at 2pm. There will be a celebration in his honor at 3pm at the Catholic Church Hall. Food and catholic beverages will be provided. Come celebrate and wear your Chiefs gear! To leave the family a special message of condolence, please visit, www.loranfawcettfuneralhome.com.
