MARY ELIZABETH MCGHEE Mary Elizabeth McGhee, 82, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Friday morning, February 16, 2007 at the Wilson County Hospital, Neodesha, Kansas. Mary was born December 09, 1924 in Sullivan County, Indiana to Robert C. and Clara E. Allen Allen. She attended school in Hymera, Indiana, graduating in 1942. Mary married Wallace Martin McGhee on March 18, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1983. She completed her nursing degree and was licensed by the State of Michigan on May 9, 1958. She worked for the State of Michigan until her retirement in 1984. She moved to Kansas in 1985. She was a past member of the Temple Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan for 40 years and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Neodesha, Kansas. Mary is survived by two sons, Robert McGhee and his wife, Liane of Charlevoix, Michigan and William McGhee of Neodesha, Kansas; two daughters, Sue Thomas and her husband, Dwight of Redford, Michigan and Elaine Prosser and her husband, Dewayne of Neodesha, Kansas; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, Lloyd Allen, Henry Allen, Earl Allen, John Allen, Clifford Allen, Charles Allen and James Allen; and two sisters, Minnie Allen and Myrtle Allen. Visitation hours for Mary will be on Monday, February 19, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha. Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth McGhee will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Dewayne Prosser officiating. Burial will follow at the Neodesha City Cemetery. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Bible Baptist Church, 1100 N. 4th, Neodesha, Kansas.
