Melvin Hare

Melvin D Hare, 80, from Neodesha, KS. passed away August 27, 2018 at Wilson Medical in Neodesha, KS.
Melvin was born October 12, 1937 to Roy & Vergie (Dannels) Hare at their home in Altoona, KS. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years stationed in San Diego, CA. He married Norma Jean Goodnight on July 20, 1955 at Miami, Oklahoma. They made their home in Independence, KS where Melvin worked for Starcraft Boats, they later moved to Neodesha, where Melvin began farming and hauling Cobalt Boats. Left to remember his memory are his daughter Connie Burkhead of Neodesha, KS; son John (Deanna) Hare of Fayettville, NC; grandsons Fred Burkhead of Neodesha, KS, and Stephen (Sarah) Burkhead of Claflin, KS; granddaughter Allison Hare of Fayettville, NC; 1 great granddaughter Rachael Burkhead of Claflin, KS; adopted daughter Tisha (Randy) Raida of Thayer, KS; sister Shirley (Bob) Huser of Neodesha, KS; and brother Sam (Ruth) Hare of Onalaska, TX.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean, and brother Jim Hare.
Visitation will be held Thursday August 30, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS. Services will be Friday August 31, 2018 at 2:00pm at Christ Church in Neodesha, KS. Burial will follow at the Neodesha Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Melvin's name to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
