OCIE LEE GENTRY Ocie Lee Ellen Elkins Gentry of Neodesha, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Beverly Health and Rehab. She was 80. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2005, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Neodesha with Rev. Dale Coble officiating. Burial will be at the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of Penwell Gabel Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 16, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. The daughter of Orrin Chandler and Martha Naomi Woody Usher, she was born Jan. 1, 1925, at Gate, OK. She attended schools at Gate and later moved to Sedan where she graduated in 1942. She was united in marriage to Esley E. Elkins Jr. on Jan. 9 1943. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1966. She was united in marriage to Ralph Gentry on April 5, 1968. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1998. Mrs. Gentry worked for the Kansas Census Bureau and Bob Bacon Insurance. She also operated a retail store, Ocie Lees and worked for Merle Norman Cosmetics and Boutique. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors included five sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry L. Elkins and Gail Masinton of Manhattan, KS, Kerry L. and Joyce Elkins of New Philadelphia, OH, Esley E. Nick and Mary Elkins of Manhattan, KS, Rick R. and Dana Elkins of Bartlesville, OK, and Gerald K. and Lynn Gentry of Olathe, KS; a sister, Geneva Baker of Neodesha; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister. Memorial contributions may be made tot the First Church of the Nazarene or the Neodesha Senior Citizen Center.
