Otis L. Davis Otis Lee Davis of Fredonia, KS, formerly of Neodesha, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita. He was 55. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Covenant Promise Church in Fredonia. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Union Cemetery in Rye, Arkansas. The son of Edgar William and Annie Mae Steele Davis, he was born February 8, 1952, in Monticello, Arkansas. He received his education in Monticello. He was united in marriage to Barbara Rose in Rison, AR. She preceded him in death June 9, 2000. Mr. Davis moved to Neodesha from Waggoner, OK, in 1997, where he was formerly employed at Prestige Cabinets as a door sander. He moved to Fredonia in 1999. Mr. Davis was a member of Eagles Aerie 3448 in Neodesha where he served as a trustee and bar manager. He is survived by his wife, Betty Burns of the home; a daughter, Susan Davis of Neodesha; two sons, Jason and Jeff Davis, both of Fredonia; one step-daughter, Kristy Burns of Neodesha; one step-son, Leland Burns of Fredonia; three sisters, Betty White of Hermitage, AR, Bertha Davis of Crosley, TX, and Francis Smith of New Edinburg, AR; one step-sister, Katie Montgomery of Pryor, OK; one brother, Harry Davis of Hermitage, AR; and three grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers. Memorial contributions may be left to the family to help defray funeral costs.
