Paul J. Arnold Paul Jacob Arnold of Neodesha, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the Wilson Medical Center Reece Campus. He was 84. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha. Pastor Mick Davis will officiate. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, in Poage Cemetery in South Hydro, OK, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford, OK. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. The son of Isaac and Frances Katherine Hoening Arnold, he was born February 12, 1925, in Howell, Nebraska. He was raised in Chautauqua County, KS, where he received his education. Paul served with the US Army during WWII and was involved in the Normandy Invasion. On August 19, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mildred Viola Klein in Oklahoma City, OK. The couple has resided in Neodesha since 1954. She survives at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha. He was a welder for M-E-C for many years, retiring in 1987. He was also a licensed plumber and served as a volunteer fireman for the Neodesha Fire Department for many years. Paul was a member of the VFW, the Riverside Baptist Church of Independence, KS, and was a former board member for the Altoona Days. Other survivors include good friends and caregivers, David and Peggy Hamlin; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Floyd.
