Raymond Toomey

Raymond Dale Toomey age 86 of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Kansas Medical center in Andover, Kansas.

Cremation has taken place at his request under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel. No services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to The First Christian Church in Neodesha contributions may be left with Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Dale was born on June 25, 1927 in Neodesha, Kansas. He was the son of Raymond and Annie McKinnis Toomey. He grew up in Neodesha and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1944. He joined the US Army on August 14, 1945 and was honorably discharged and recalled to duty and was discharged in 1950. Dale married Anna Pendleton on June 2, 1949 in Neodesha, Kansas.

He worked at Self Service Grocery Store for 30 years, then at the Associate Lumber in the hardware department for 15 years, both in Neodesha. He also helped his son in his construction business.
Dale was a member of The First Christian Church in Neodesha and served as Sunday School Superintendent, deacon and elder.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two sons, Ryan Toomey and his wife Debbie of Neodesha, Kansas, Rex Toomey and his wife sue of Watersville, Kansas one daughter, Melissa Moore and her husband Curt of DeSoto, Kansas seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant triplet children, Melvin, Michael and Marcia one brother, Johnnie Moore two sisters, Barbara Morgan and Iris Shacklette.
