Robert D. Hart Robert D. Hart of Neodesha, KS, died Monday, January 11, 2010, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was 88. Cremation has taken place under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2009, at PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS. Pastor Jim Logan will officiate. The son of William M. and Idas Ann Gibson Hart, he was born April 25, 1921, in Dennison, TX. He played basketball for Buffalo High School in Buffalo, OK, graduating in 1939.He later attended Oklahoma State for one year. During WWII, Mr. Hart was a certified welder at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. He was employed as a welder and draftsman at Watkins Engineering and as a draftsman and salesman for SmithMoon Steel Co. in Winfield. In 1960, he moved to Neodesha to accept employment at MEC Company. At MEC he was a draftsman, a project engineer in charge of drafting and an ultrasonic welding inspector. He retired in 1983. On February 28, 1944, he was united in marriage to Eloise Bender in Wichita, KS. Mrs. Hart preceded him in death in 2006. Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Institute of Design and Drafting and a former member of the Winfield Jaycees. He choreographed ballroom dancing for 20 years and enjoyed square dancing for the past several years. He also was an avid golfer and hunter and was a volunteer at both the Wilson Medical CenterReece Campus and the Neodesha Service Center. Survivors include one daughter, Joy McCoy of Springfield, MO one brother, Jerry Bill Hart of Port Angelese, WA two grandchildren, Lisa Hoffman and David McCoy and four greatgrandchildren, Ethan and Evan Hoffman and Brooklyn and Adam McCoy. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Billie Ruth Hart and Betty Mae Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilson Medical Center Foundation and may be left at the funeral home.
