Robert Bob Sharp Taubeneck age 79, of Neodesha, Kansas died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at the Golden Keys Nursing Home in Neodesha, Kansas. Bob was born December 2, 1923 in Neodesha, Kansas to Earl Robert and Jessie Agnes Sharp Taubeneck. He grew up in Neodesha and graduated from the Neodesha High School in 1942. In the fall of 1942 Bob enlisted into the United States Army Air Corp and served during World War II as a B-17 Air Craft Mechanic in England he was honorably discharged in 1945. On March 29, 1946 Bob married Muriel B. Alexander in Neodesha, Kansas where they made their home. They later
orced. Bob lived on a farm outside of Neodesha, Kansas where he was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years, the Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 5962, and one of the First Presidents of the Neodesha Booster Club. Survivors include one daughter Linda Taubeneck of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one son Alan Taubeneck of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister Bobbie Massie of Wofford Heights, California; he was preceded in death by an infant son John Alexander Taubeneck and one sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at the St. Igantius Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Reciting of the Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Neodesha, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2003 and Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. The family has suggested memorials to the Golden Keys Nursing Home and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
