Robert Eugene “Gene” White, 82 of Neodesha, Kansas passed away at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha on Sunday, December 29, 2019.
Gene was born December 2, 1937 in Fredonia, Kansas to Jacob Earl White and Flora Ann (Bumgarner) White. He attended Fredonia schools before joining the United States Army in 1955. He was honorably discharged in 1961. On May 13, 1987 he married the love of his life, Brenda Blake from Oklahoma. He was a foreman for Contractor’s Engineer in rural Altoona before retirement. He built their home in rural Neodesha and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He had collected military cartridges since he was a young man and donated his collection to the Woolaroc Museum in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He and his wife had a large collection of exotic animals and exotic snakes. They loved to travel and hunt arrowheads. They owned the Main Street Flea Market in Neodesha for many years. He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a very honest and Christian man. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Flora White, brothers, Donald Earl White and Roy Lee White and son, John L. Ramsdale.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home, 4 children, Rhonda White of Benedict, KS, Jodie White of Anderson, MO, Tracie Washam of Anderson, MO, and Kellie Nelson of Harrisonville, MO, son, Jerry “Turk” Minick of rural Neodesha, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The family will greet friends on Friday, January 3rd from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Loran Fawcett Chapel, 704 Indiana St. Neodesha, KS 66757. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4th at 10:00am at Loran Fawcett Chapel with interment immediately following at Grandview Cemetery.
